Associate Medical Writer assessment days

05 - 09 - 2016

inScience Communications offers rewarding and interesting careers for anyone looking to break into the challenging world of medical writing.

In order to recruit suitable candidates for our Associate Medial Writer roles, we hold regular assessment days at our Tattenhall office in Cheshire.  Prior to the assessment day, candidates are selected from a shortlist and are sent two tasks (writing and numerical) to complete.  Those who are successful are then invited to attend the assessment day.

We look for individuals who will work hard to make the most of every opportunity this role will present. In addition to a life sciences degree, we require enthusiastic individuals with proficient scientific writing skills, coupled with the capability to interpret complex scientific data and ability to juggle a variety of daily tasks.

The selection process is designed to give candidates the chance to demonstrate their scientific and numeric capability, team building and critical thinking skills.

During the day, candidates are given a tour of our building and have the chance to spend time with team members in the breakout area.  This gives the ideal opportunity for them to ask questions away from an interview environment so they can assess if our working culture, environment and role is right for them.  There is also a competency based interview, so candidates can show that they are suited for the role and demonstrate they have the skills to succeed.  We include a panel presentation with lunch where the team present the company values and talk about their own individual career path and what they enjoy about their role.

Throughout the day team members spend a lot of time with candidates putting them at ease and answering their questions.  Whether candidates are successful or not we want them to leave having learnt more about the industry, the role and career progression.
