01 - 10 - 2016

On Monday 20th June 2016, inScience Communications held a one day educational event in Basel, Switzerland.

The event was aimed at bringing publications professionals together from pharmaceutical headquarters in the region, to hear the latest developments and thinking in publication planning. We have published this interesting event overview on our YouTube channel:

In this increasingly complex and fast moving area, publications experts were keen to hear about the latest trends, compare best practices and network with their peers.

Bryce McMurray, Vice President of inScience Communications welcomed the attendees to the event which is the first event of its kind to be held in Basel.

The meeting host Phil Hammond, Doctor, Journalist and Broadcaster, then introduced each presentation:

  • Chris Carswell the Editor-in-Chief of Pharmacoeconomics at Adis Journals gave an update on GPP3.
  • Bryce McMurray discussed the challenges of taking medical communications globally, along with the Director, Head of Publications Management Team at GSK Vaccines who gave their perspective of these challenges.
  • Next followed a panel discussion around best practices that included representatives from the publications teams at AstraZeneca, GSK Vaccines, Roche, Shire and Merck.

In conclusion Phil Hammond gave a presentation on how published papers ultimately effect treatment decisions.

After the presentations, attendees informally chatted over canapés and drinks at the networking reception.

The event was a huge success and inScience Communications will continue to share their experience and expertise at future activities and events. The next event is in Tokyo, Japan on 27th October 2016.
